Event - Reception's Living Eggs Experience

February 2012

For the second year running our Reception class have the unique opportunity of having real hens’ eggs in the classroom.

The incubator and brooder were set up ready for the first sign of a cracked egg. After waiting a short time the eggs started to hatch and new life was experienced in the class.

As the word spread around the school that chicks could be heard chirping in Reception, a stream of visitors knocked the door wanting to see. Teachers, pupils, parents and governors were all asking questions and enjoying the opportunity to watch Mother Nature at work.

The experience is giving the Reception children lots of ideas for their writing, art work and PE. What better way to learn than through a real life experience?
